The summer sun was shining to kick off Helen & Dan's Farm Fest Wedding, 6th July 2019. The Wellbeing Farm, Edgeworth. Helen & Dan's wedding had everything from Domino's pizza, Llamas, Alpacas, a Tug of War and a Rodeo Bull! (which Grandad WON!).
After proposing on an epic road trip around America's San Diego, Las Vegas, Death Valley and Santa Monica, Dan's plans didn't quite go as he imagined.
"I had been scoping out a memorable place to propose to Helen while staying in the area. I saw the Ferris wheel (I’d also seen it in GTA V) in the distance and knew the top of the Ferris wheel would be a fantastic place to propose. We arrived at the amusement park was closed due to a charity auction being on that night! I bottled it! With one day left of holiday, I was running out of ideas of where to pop the question. Our last day was spent in Downtown LA with a visit to see our first Baseball game. I did consider proposing on the Dodgers game but that would be way too public and we would have both been extremely uncomfortable about it. So while in the Apartment before the game I popped the question and the rest is history :) "
WEDDING PREPARATION COVERAGE
What better way to kick off the day with the Groomsmen with Dominoes Pizza and beers! YES! Matt joined the boys and captured all the action!
Sabina met the Bride & Bridesmaids at an intimate setting in the rustic Baron's Farm. Helen has a stunning dried flower bouquet and lace wedding dress.
"We wanted to do something a little different for flowers, and during researching this came across The Artisan Dried Flower Co. Fresh flowers don’t last forever, and so using dried flowers meant our buttonholes and bouquets could last so much longer, and my bridesmaids and I could keep our bouquets afterwards. We went with lavender and blue wildflowers, and the finished product was fantastic!"
Would you recommend Rustic Lovebirds to others planning their wedding?
"10000% yes! If you’re looking for natural photos that really make the most of the venue and capture the essence of the day then look no further :) We met Matt and Sabina at an open day at The Wellbeing Farm, and really loved the vibe we got from them. The sample of work they showed us really chimed with what we knew we were looking for in a photographer. Essentially, as natural as possible photos that really captured the fun and happiness of the day. Having two people to work with also helped a lot as you get two perspectives rather than just one."
WEDDING CEREMONY COVERAGE
"We had been to see one other venue prior to finding The Wellbeing Farm. As soon as we visited the place we absolutely fell in love, and we didn’t consider holding the event anywhere else. Everything about it; the scenery, the staff and...the llamas of course! :) "
Helen and Dan's most memorable bits of the day were :
"The llamas, donkeys and alpacas stand out for obvious reasons, our guests loved them and so did we."
"Our friend Hannah made our wedding cake for us, and it was fantastic. We really wanted a semi-naked cake, incorporating our favourite flavours….Victoria sponge and chocolate! There was going to be a carrot cake base but she dropped it!!"
"We really wanted to keep the rustic/boho feeling that the venue had, but also put our own stamp on it. For centrepieces, we decided to make them ourselves after falling down a hole in the internet looking for props. We found the concept of ‘fairy gardens’ and decided to make a fairy garden for each table. We also invited our guests to take the centrepieces home with them as a memento of the day."
"The food was catered by the venue, and guests were very well fed :) We went with the Rustic Fun catering option, which meant guests were served to the table with a sharing platter full of lamb, chicken and sausages from the on-site butcher and all the trimmings. Pudding was a mango eton mess and sticky toffee pudding with jugs of custard and toffee sauce. For the evening guests, the pizza oven was fired up and served to everyone. We filled the candy cart and even had a cheese wedding cake!"
WEDDING SPEECHES COVERAGE
Dan's personal highlight was: "Apart from getting married, having all our favourite people in the world around us for the wedding day."
One piece of advice Helen and Dan would give to newly engaged couples "On your wedding day the food, decor and scenery are an important part of the day, but the only way to capture that properly is with a great photographer. Photos last forever, and you want them to be photos that you and your family will cherish."

WEDDING EVENING PARTY COVERAGE
"One of the(many) great things about The Wellbeing Farm is the outdoor games they have available for anyone who books the venue to use. Matt and Sabina suggested we set up a tug of war with all our friends in the evening. It was brilliant fun, and I couldn’t wait to see the resulting photos….they really didn’t disappoint!"
"We also booked a rodeo bull for our evening guests, and before they left Matt and Sabina captured some amazing photos of our guests having a go on it. Our guests absolutely loved it as the photos showed, and it got quite competitive! The winner was Daniel’s grandad who managed 53 seconds!" "Watching everyone have a go on the rodeo bull in the evening was just so funny, especially when my brother got on and held on to the horns in a rather unorthodox style!"
